“Jurassic World” AR Dinosaurs in Google Search
Search for a dinosaur on Google using a mobile device and tap “View in 3D” to rotate or zoom in and see it up close. You can then bring the dinosaur into your space with AR and adjust its size to understand how big it is in relation to the things around you. On Android devices, turn up your volume to hear the thudding footsteps and roars of each dinosaur.
Viewable dinosaurs include: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pteranodon, and Parasaurolophus. (source Google Blog)
You can see Sue the T-Rex at the Chicago Field Museum (once it is open again). In the meantime you can take a virtual field trip with Google!
WCPL would like to give a big thanks to Dinosaur World for loaning their fossil collection for display at the Main Library and also to Refe & Susan Tuma, the creators of Dinovember and authors of the What the Dinosaurs Did children’s book series.
