Classes are held inside the Idea Lab @ Bob Kirby. All classes are free unless stated otherwise. Classes should last between 45 min to 1 hr (except pottery sessions). For more information about the lab, please visit our Idea Lab page.

Idea Lab class sizes are limited. Registration is required for all classes. Classes are designed for adults & teens.

Customized Halloween 3D Printing

In this class you will be shown the process of how to find, customize, and submit your 3D printing projects.

Whether you’ve been procrastinating or got a last-minute invite to a Halloween party, you’ll be able to throw together a quick costume. In this class you will learn the process of creating and applying a iron-on transfer with the Sawgrass sublimation printer and Volcano heat press.

Making Wall Art & Signage with the Vinyl Cutter

Learn how to make wall art and signage using the vinyl cutter and VinylMaster software.
Registration required. Ages 13+.

This class will be instructional and a demonstration will be done. Students will not walk away with a finished piece.

If desired, students may stay after the class and purchase materials to create a piece.

Intro to Pottery

This intro to pottery series includes a brief introduction to hand building and wheel throwing. All participants will create and glaze their own pieces before being fired in the kiln.

Before registering for this series, please be sure you can attend all three dates and times listed.

The class is free, but the cost for clay & glaze is $5. The library cannot guarantee that each participant’s pieces will fire successfully in the kiln. Registration required. Ages 18+.

Open Pottery Wheel Time

This session is open to all Idea Lab Pottery students (and those with previous ceramic experience) to practice throwing techniques. There will be no formal teaching, but a staff member will be onsite to monitor and answer questions.

Potters are responsible for purchasing or providing their own clay – all other equipment is provided and available for use in the Idea Lab.
