KDLA Book Kit Services

The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives offers numerous adult and youth book kits for patrons of Kentucky public libraries. Each book kit includes copies of the book (up to 15 for adult kits and 20 for youth), an audiobook when available, and a discussion guide. A select number of youth book kits also include a large print and/or Spanish copy of the title. If your bookclub requires a specific number of book copies, please specify this information upon submitting requests.

To inquire about/request a book kit, please follow the directions below. Kits are categorized by age with select lists further organized by genre/subject.

Requests for delivery prior to September 30 are currently being accepted.

Book Kit Procedures

Upon the arrival of a book kit(s), the processing librarian will use the requesting patron’s library information to place a hold on the kit. The requesting patron will then receive a notification, via email or phone call, that the kit is ready for pickup at their designated library location. Book kits are checked out for a 4-week period with NO renewals. Kits may be returned to any WCPL location.
