Root and Twig: Warren County, Kentucky Genealogy
Warren County Public Library’s genealogy collection includes not just Warren County, but our closest neighboring counties as well: Barren, Butler, Christian, Logan, and Edmonson.
Our genealogy reference collection incorporates much of Kentucky’s early years, and consists of cemetery books, will books, early deed abstracts, family histories, some census books, local directories, and much more. We also have in-library access to Ancestry Library Edition and remote access to HeritageQuest Online for library patrons and staff.
Want us to do some research for you?
Please use the online form to request genealogy or local history information. Staff will also answer queries received via mail, email, or telephone, as time allows.
You will need to provide the following information:
- Name of main subject and any immediate family members known to you (often a family member’s name will help the researcher distinguish one “James Smith” from another)
- Dates and places of birth or death; and any other dated event known, such as marriage or census record.
- You will also need to specify what information you are seeking about your ancestor.
- For example, do you want to know where they are buried, where they were born, or are you just looking for their obituary?
A staff member will contact you with the requested information, with a request for additional information, or with an update on the status of your request.
