Several years back, our library programmers began building dinosaur-themed programs into the fall schedule and cleverly decided to rename November Dinovember. Since then, we have hosted activities based on celebrating and learning more about these giant prehistoric creatures during the month. Here’s what we have on the docket the next few weeks.

Tuesday, November 5 @ 12:30 p.m.
Animated Prehistoric Movie with Littlefoot at The Capitol
This animated adventure stars an orphaned dinosaur named Littlefoot who meets four other dinosaurs while on a trek to find food and water. (Rated G)

Thursday, November 7 @ 6 p.m.
Family Storytime & Dinomite FACT Shop at the Lisa Rice Library
This dinosaur-themed early literacy event is for infants, toddlers & preschoolers and their parents or caregivers. The “Family As Children’s Teachers” (FACT) workshop activities are designed to engage young children’s social and emotional learning. Each child will get a free book and toy. Register HERE.

Monday, November 11 @ 5:30 p.m.
“Wings of Fire” Adventure Night at the Smiths Grove Branch
If you love the “Wings of Fire” series, then join us in a Dungeons and Dragons style campaign and bring your dragon character to life.

Thursday, November 14 @ 9:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.
Let’s Read Series with Illustrator/Author Mike Lowery at The Capitol
Mike Lowery is a talented New York Times best-selling illustrator who has worked on more than eighty books for kids and author of a number, as well. SOKY Ice Rink Opening & Dinosaur Presentations at SoKY IceRink
Friday, November 22 @ 5 p.m. & 6 p.m.
The Dinosaurs of Feller Express will give two presentations to celebrate the opening of the ice rink and the beginning of the Winter Reading Program!
